Hi GrADS users!
- I'm looking for a link or reference do the following:
For a GRIB-1 file, for a selected variable, I want to:
Smooth the data, output smoothed field to GRIB-1 format ..
Test data:
Input files: TSTM.ctl
TSTM.grib - GRIB-1 data file
TSTM.grib.idx
wgrib TSTM.grib
1:0:d=10060912:TSTM:kpds5=60:kpds6=1:kpds7=0:TR=4:P1=0:P2=0:TimeU=1:sfc:0-0hr acc:NAve=0
Contents ot TSTM.ctl
dset ^TSTM.grib
index ^TSTM.grib.idx
undef 9.999E+20
title TSTM.grib

tdef 1 linear 12Z09jun2010 1mo
zdef 1 linear 1 1

I've used the "lats4d" utility of gradsc/gradsnc as follows:
gradsnc -blc 'lats4d -v -q -i TSTM.ctl -ftype ctl -func smth9(tstmsfc) -o test -format grads_grib'
Output: (excerpted)...
lats4d: vertical levels 1
lats4d: using PRESSURE for vertical coordinate
...
lats4d: Function expression smth9(tstmsfc)
lats4d: surface variables tstmsfc
lats4d: writing to grads_grib file test.grb on 12Z09JUN2010
...
wgrib test.grb
Undefined parameter table (center 100-2 table 128), using NCEP-opn
1:0:d=10060912:PRES:kpds5=1:kpgs6=1:kpds7=0:TR=0:P1=0:P2=0:TimeU=1:sfc:anl:Nave=0
I don't understand why the data written to the new GRIB file is now called "PRES"...
Can anyone shed some light on this?
Cheers,
