I am building for debian-5 (because we use it). These checks of the
extensions are giving error

test_LATS (lats.ut.ut) ... ok
test_LATS_GZIP_1 (lats.ut.ut) ... ERROR
test_LATS_GZIP_2 (lats.ut.ut) ... ERROR
test_LATS_GZIP_9 (lats.ut.ut) ... ERROR
test_LATS_GaGrib (lats.ut.ut) ... ERROR
test_LATS_GribOnly (lats.ut.ut) ... ERROR
^test_LATS_HDF4 (lats.ut.ut) ... ERROR

^Ctest_LATS_NetCDF3 (lats.ut.ut) ... ERROR
^Ctest_LATS_NetCDF4 (lats.ut.ut) ... ERROR
test_LATS_Shave (lats.ut.ut) ... ERROR


Those with the ^ actually hang in there.  Can you suggest me an
example to do a manual test for debugging?
