Installing GrADS on Ubuntu 9.10

Can you help give me information on how to install GrADS on Ubuntu?  I tried
doing it on my own but am encountering numerous problems.  Can anyone who
had installed GrADS on Ubuntu 9.10 give me detailed instructions on how to
go about doing this including setting environments, etc.
