How to modify netCDF header?

  Dear all,
  I have a precipitation dataset which was distributed in binary files which I converted to netCDF by employing opengrads' lats4d.
  However, some information of the data is missing/incorrect. Please see the attached picture. I'd like to edit the "comments" and "units" fields. Is it possible? Using what software?
