Problem Using sublin and subwrd

These functions only work with in GRADS scripts, not with command line.

1.I am trying to use the sublin and subwrd commands/functions.
Unfortunately, I am getting error messages as follow:
 
 
 
 a)  ga-> q dims
Default file number is: 1 
X is varying   Lon = -100 to -20   X = -39 to -7
Y is varying   Lat = -60 to 20   Y = 13 to 45
Z is fixed     Lev = 1000  Z = 1
T is fixed     Time = 00Z01JAN1979  T = 1
E is fixed     Ens = 1  E = 1
ga-> ll=sublin(result,2)
Syntax Error:  Invalid Operand 
  'sublin' not a variable or function name
  Error ocurred at column 1
DEFINE error:  Invalid expression. 
 
 
b)  ga-> q time
Time = 00Z01JAN1979 to 00Z01JAN1979  Mon to Mon
ga-> res=subwrd(result,3)
Syntax Error:  Invalid Operand 
  'subwrd' not a variable or function name
  Error ocurred at column 1
DEFINE error:  Invalid expression. 
ga-> 
 
 
 
2. My version of GrADS is:
 
 
ga-> q config
