[gradsusr] zdef character limit

Hello,

I am having difficulties with 'zdef' in the GRADS control file (.ctl). I
am currently using a vertical grid with 160 levels and each level is
being written with 10 characters.  I am running into an issue with GRADS
reading in the 'zdef' levels properly.  After trial and error, I have
figured out that there seems to be some type of character limit of 500.
After this limit it still reads 'zdef' but if this 500 character pointer
is positioned on a level it cuts it into two levels.  Is there any way
to bypass this character limit?
