These are my starting quesses on the problem.
If you have two control files open and the u component is still a =
problem then, use wgrib to map the grib files "HUIG30EGRR131200" and see =
if the u-component is defined. They may have output it as wind speed in =
place of the u and v components of the wind. If the u-componebt is =
present then look at the max and min values to see if they look =
reasonable.
