netcdf 64 bit

Hello:

I am trying to display data from a 64 bit netcdf file using open. Using
ncdump -h, the top of the netcdf file is:

netcdf cam3_5_1 { // format variant: 64bit

I wrote a ctl file to open the file. I am able to open the file, and display
data that are defined as double, but not data that are defined as float.

What do I need to do to read and display data defined as float?
