Dear all,

I am a student at the University of connecticut doing research on
cliamate variability. I am new to GrADS, and I am having problem using
the (UDF) psichig. I think I have sucssesfuly installed the UDF but I
am developing priblem from the start. When I try to run the test file "
t.psichig.sh" I get the error massage below,

Non-numeric args to numeric operation

  Error occurred on line 3

  In file t.psichig.sh

Line 3 is the test run of "t.psichig.gs" now when I try to run "t.pschig.gs" i get the error massage below,

Syntax Error:  Invalid Operand

  'psi' not a variable or function name

  Error ocurred at column 1

DISPLAY error:  Invalid expression

  Expression = psi(all,ua,va)

Can somebody help in identifying the problem and the possible solution.

And is there another way of getting the velocity potential without using the "UDF- psichig"

Thank you in advance
