Gisele,
Eu instalei as rotinas do NCARG no diretorio
/usr/local/unidata/ncarg ou algo parecido no seu laptop.
Ha diversas rotinas do ncar/ncl que fazem interpolacoes.
--> inclusive sobre um que eu mencionei nas apresentacoes
(natgrid) Vide por exemplo :

para maiores detalhes.
Voce pode fazer uma interface em fortran e usar as rotinas
ncl (vide descricao no site da ncar).
Vou tenter ver algo mais voltado para o caso de voces.
