2.0.a7.1 segmentation fault when opening a netcdf dataset

I compiled grads (2.0.a7.1) myself and, when "sdfopen" a netcdf
dataset, it segfaults.
If I install pre-compiled (ubuntu-8.04) binaries, the same dataset is
opened without any problem.
The same if i "open" the netcdf dataset by mean of an appropriate
"ctl": it works.

Any idea? Anything I can do to help spotting the problem?
