creating .ctl file and use

Dear All,

I would like to plot 5 deg gridded Carbon monoxide (CO) over plotted wind vector.
For that I am using 'C' program to read ASCII CO data to produce binary file (.grd). I am not sure how to create *.ctl file and how to use in GrADS to plot CO values.

Please attached find the CO data file, C program which gives CO.grd file and manually created CO.ctl file (although I tried to create one but it gives error).

Any help with creating ctl file  and using it for plotting CO values in Grads would be much appreciated.
