to plot only the significant wind vectors

Ramesh,

One possibility is to use "maskout" to mask wind magnitudes below a
certain specified wind threshold... and then if the remaining wind
vectors are too dense, use the "skip" function...
Please find attached GrADS scripts and resulting plot file...
