Calculating Percentiles in GrADS

define a=ave (air,t=10, t=100)
set gxout shaded
d a

Can someone explain me why this little script does not average air temperature "air" from t=10 to t=100.
In the command window appears this message: Unknown command ave
I´m using grads-1.8sl11-win32e with a sdf file from NCEP (air.mon.mean.nc).

set lat -90 90
set lon 0 360
set lev 1000
ave (air,t=10, t=100)
set gxout shaded
d air
run cbar
