Yes, in Archlinux. See

There is a "huge" patch to use all features and new dap++ interface. Also in
SDF the Netcdf-3 API is used, no supplibs (most shared), an "idea" on how to
use shapefiles linking shapelib.

Works (patching) at least on Debian 4 64 bit, fedora 7 64 bit, Ubuntu 7.04
64 bit and (of course) Arch.
