Gribbing with 2 different FORTRAN compilers

Dear Arlindo,

I'm dealing with a fortran compiler problem you may have come across.

I'm doing some GRIB 1 packing using 'packgrib' routine by Bob Dattore at
NCAR/DSS.
When I compile my programs with the g77 (GNU vs 3.4.6) compiler everything
works fine. Yet, when I use the ifort (Intel vs 10.023) compiler the
output
GRIB file has the same size as from the g77 but tools like 'wgrib' behave
as if the file was empty.

Any suggestions on this?
