Model data interpolation on stations

Dear all,

How we can interpolate the model data on stations to make a comparison
between the two data sets. One simple method in Grads which i know is

open file
set lat ...
set lon ...
d var

This way we can get a value which is closer to the point station. But this
technique is not good when dealing with large number of station data sets.
Any help will be appreciated.
