Did you resolve this issue yet?
If not, my best guess is that you don't have a row centered on 48N.
There are few ways to check. One would be to run the same script but,
instead of 'd uwnd', do 'd lat' and check the latitudes that are printed.
48N likely sits somewhere between your rows 5 & 6, but closer to row 5.
