regenerate a ctl file

Dear grads users,

Maybe a simple problem for the grads experts?
Due to a power failure I have lost a ctl file of model output but
hopefully had save the .dat file in an external disk. Now my question
is how to regenerate the ctl file to read the binary file? I did
various simulation at different resolutions
and don't kow exactly which one it is?
Maybe someone can suggest a solution.
