Could not open NetCDF file

Dear Sachin,
I have *very* limited experience with the windows version of grads, but...
I got a similar error (but not as polite) trying to display tor using
your descriptor file on my win2k platform.
However, I was able to display tor on a unix platform using your
descriptor file (modified dset only).
So, I copied a different netcdf file which I could open directly using
sdfopen to my win2k box and successfully displayed its data.
I made a descriptor file for that netcdf file and opened it with
xdfopen, which resulted in an error when displaying the data on win2k.
So, based on the above, I have three options to suggest:
1) Modify your metadata to be COARDS compliant so you can sdfopen the
netcdf file directly (no descriptor file).
2) If you have access to grads on a unix or linux platform, move your
data there.
Or,
3) Convert your data to a flat binary or grib file.
Good luck.
