How to draw the figures at the specific location

Hi All:

I'd like to draw a figure with 360 degrees in longitude and 40 degrees in
latitude. However, the figure I drew by GrADS was very "narrow" [the x
direction is much longer than the y direction] no matter how to define the
'vpage' and 'parea'.

Any help will be appreciated.
