zonal average

  Dear frds,


              I wanted to do zonal average of a parameter between 20-40N:0-360.My code is as follows

...
...
set lon -90
set lat 20 40
d ave(z,lon=0,lon=360)
...
...
but i am not getting desireable results....

can anybody help me to calculate zonally average, if somebody has done it already.
