suspected bug in X86_64 distribution

Dears,
I'm using grads 1.9b4 on a centOS-4 X86_64 platform (installation from
http://centos.karan.org/kbsingh-CentOS-Extras.repo)

My problem is on "LEV" variable for preprojected data.
Trying to explain: using bilin preprojected data I loose the LEV
variable on centOS-4 X86_64: 'DISPLAY LEV' gives <Cannot contour grid -
all undefined values> while, using not preprojected data, 'DISPLAY LEV'
gives <Constant field.  Value = 1000> which is correct.
I also tried to recompile grads source code but the problem didn't fix.

This problem also appears on a 32bit centOS-5 (either using precompiled
binaries from official distribution for RH7, RH9, RHE3 or a compiled by
myself starting from official source code)

Instead this doesn't happen on Ubuntu 7.10 (grads 1.9b4 compiled by
myself) and on digital alpha (grads v1.7Beta14)

Help, suggestions or what else ... really appreciated ...

in the attached tarball there is everything needed to test the problem:
      * a grib data sample (bo21.grb)
      * the descriptor of the data for the limited area model in its
        natural coordinates (rotated): bo21.ctl
      * descriptor in human lat - lon: bo21ar.ctl
      * output of gribmap: bo21.idx
      * pdef bilin file used by bo21ar.ctl: bo21.2002.1.bilin
