ERA-40 model resolution data (N80) and grib2ctl.pl

Dear all,

has anybody a script (or a grib2ctl.pl update) to make model
resolution data of the ERA-40 project readable by grads?  These data
are on a "reduced N80 Gaussian grid", see
http://dss.ucar.edu/datasets/common/ecmwf/docs/n80Rpnts.html

I tried using Wesley's latest grib2ctl.pl script as well as its beta
version but
both choked and didn't produce valid ydef/pdef entries.
