"Too many open files" on GDS

If you do a Google search on that error message, it seems that message
is usually not the problem of the application but that of the
underlying operating system. You may need to consult with your system
administrator (if that's not you) and change your OS configuration
somehow. Can you reliably reproduce the problem? If all it takes is a
reboot of the GDS to solve it, then I would also put a command in the
cron to reboot the system every day at 3am, or some other time when the
system doesn't see much action.
