Paul,
Using the first (navytopo) dataset you listed, I can get an image coverage
similar to those in your wxmaps.org link by doing the following:

'set mproj nps'
'set lon 0 360'
'set mpvals -25 50 25 70'
'd const(z,0,-u)'

Using the "const" expression seems to get rid of the blank line along 0
degrees. Granted it's still nps projection, but your samples appear to be
also. Otherwise, you could use "set defval [defined variable] to fill in
the blank part of your defined map subset. Earlier (July I think) there
was also a Users Group posting suggesting something like this:

'set lon 320 410'
'd [vrbl]'
'set lon -40 50'
'd [vrbl]'

In above example, it should fill in the map, but you still get an image
discontinuity along the 0 meridian. Perhaps someone else out there knows a
cleaner and hopefully more straightforward way to do this.

Good luck!
Stephen Mc

Hi all, I hope you may be able to help me. I am trying to use the script
makebg.gs, which gets the topographiy data from these dods servers:
http://cola8.iges.org:9090/dods/navytopo
http://cola8.iges.org:9090/dods/navyh2o

But using these, it is only possible to make it work for europe by using a
NPS projection as on lat lon projection cuts out anything west of the
0degree line.

Evem on the NPS projection it creates a blank line through 0 degrees. Is
there a setting I need to change or is there another source of this data
that can be used? I see the charts for europe on the grads site don't have
this problem, so I am guessing there is some way around it?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Paul
