COLA is proud to announce the arrival of two new software releases,
GrADS version 1.9b4 and GDS 1.3!

Both packages are now copyrighted under the terms of the GNU General

GrADS 1.9b4:
This release contains numerous new commands and features, fixes of
reported bugs, new documentation, and stabilization of existing code.
Enhanced metadata handling has been added as a complement to the new
GDS release, as well as large file support, new templating options, and
expansion and improvement of the dtype netcdf/hdfsds interface.

Binary executables are available for DEC alpha, Mac OSX, SunOS 5.9,
three flavors of Linux (RedHat 7.1, RedHat 9, and RedHat Enterprise 3),

GDS 1.3:
The Java DAP has been updated to version 1.1.7 which implements DAP
2.0, the THREDDS XML was updated to version 1.0, and the attribute
handling has been completely overhauled and updated. Complete details
of the new GDS release are in http://www.iges.org/grads/gds/README . To
take full advantage of all the new features, It is highly recommend
that you also upgrade the version of GrADS running behind GDS. See the
