Displaying model date/time group on images

Good morning,
I am sure 99 percent of the users have an answer for me.
How is it possible to display the correct model data/time group
on each image ? I am running a very simple script that outputs
the SLP and Precip. The q time command provides some
assistance but I can't make heads or tails on how to display it
on the image. Or perhaps am I barking up the wrong tree ?
