Grads on SUSE

I just installed the GRADS 1.8 linux binaries and data on a SUSE box and
when I try to run it I get a segmentation fault. Do I need to compile
from source code to get it working on a SUSE box? I did the same
procedure on a Mandrake Linux and it worked OK...
