Countour labeling not complete

I am having a problem with the MSLP contour labels not labelling all but
a few contours when I plot my lat/lon GFS dataset with a mproj set to
nps.  If I don't specify a map projection, then it plots all the contour
labels.  Here is an example of one of my plots....

This is not a problem for the other projected datasets when I plot them
with a map projection of nps, see....
