problems getting data from DODS server

Laura,

I was able to open it with (GrADS) Version 1.9b3 on Linux.  I used the
same command you used:

ga-> gradsdods
ga-> sdfopen http://cola8.iges.org:9191/dods/eta/eta2005020100

With the xdfopen, I get the same error you got.

The only thing I can think of is to upgrade or the cola server was down when you tried to access the data set.
