plot obs and model outputs

hello,

I would like to plot on the same graph a vertical profile obtained by a
global model run (specifying the lat and lon) and an observed vertical
profile at the same location.  That is I would to open two files that do not
have the same dimensions, and then I want to plot a subset of the first file
and on the same graph the data from the second file.

How can I do that?
