Area averages

Hello to all,

I'm having a problem trying to calculate and display
an area average for accumulated rainfall. In a GrADS
script, I've done the following:

'open /home/aaronp/WRF2GrADS/0822.ctl'
"set looping off"
"set mpdset hires"
"set t 13 "
"set lat 0 20"
"set lon -35 10"
"set gxout stat"
'define accumrain=rainnc+rainc'
'd
tloop(aave(accumrain,lon=-20.5,lon=-14.5,lat=11.73,lat=17.73))'

But I get no number that coresponds to the area
average for that time. If anyone knows what I should
do, please let me know.
