How to open control file with an internet address

[Trimble, Paul]

We are applying xwin32e version of gradsdods andcan't open a control
file that is located the following URL:

http://nomads.ncdc.noaa.gov/NARR/197901/19790101/narr-a_221_19790101_000
0_000.ctl



We have been able to use the 'open' command while going through the
tutorial. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
